She attended a convent boarding school named the Sacred Heart Academy in Madison, WI in 1901. In 1902, she spent one year at Madison High School, Madison, WI. She followed her parents to Williamsburg, Virginia the spring of 1903. In the fall of 1903, she attended Chatham Episcopal Institute, in Chatham, Virginia and graduated in spring 1905. In September 1905, she attended the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, Illinois for one school year. She joined the Art Students League in New York City in September 1907 until summer of 1908.
