The scientific principle that allows hot air balloons is the following.
It's all in the name: hot air balloon. Hot air is blown into the opening at the bottom of the balloon. Because hot air is less dense than cold air, it rises. Since the balloon becomes filled with air that is less dense that that surrounding it, the balloon rises. If you want to make the hot air balloon rise faster, you have to either put less people in it or weigh it down less with less luggage or extra stuff.
Of the four forces of flight (lift, thrust, weight, and drag), weight applies to Archimedes' principle. This principle states that a body buoyancy brings a body immerced in a fluid up by a force equal to the weight of the displaced fluid. It explains the weight loss of vessels submerged in water as well as those in the air.
Density is related to the flight of hot air balloons because the more density the harder it is to get of the ground.
Bernoulli's principle states that as the pressure of a fluid (gas or liquid) decreases, the velocity of that fluid increases. This is how airplanes get their lift and helicopters get their flight.
The principle of gyroscopic precession is responsible for the actions of a boomerang in flight. The torque resulting from the aerodynamic lift of the moving object causes a curved axis, and the subsequent path of return.
The internal temperature will depend on various factors such as the load on the balloon, it's size, and the ambient air temperature. The loading of the balloon will generally be arranged such that the the internal temperature will be around 100C or 212F. If the temperature is taken much higher than this, to say 120C or 250F the fabric will start to degrade.======================================i would add that if you need more lift, it is better to have a larger balloon than heating up a smaller one. A larger balloon would not have to be as hot to provide the same amount of lift.Depending on the type of fabric used to construct the balloon the internal temperature limit will be between 125oC and 150oC / 250oF and 300oF. Nylon fabric balloon have the lower limit, polyester balloons generally have the higher limit. The above are the flight manual limits. On a typical flight a balloon would be load so that the internal tempewrature was not above 100oC / 212oF
Flight of the Red Balloon was created in 2008.
The duration of Flight of the Red Balloon is 1.92 hours.
The duration of Flight of the Lost Balloon is 1.52 hours.
Flight of the Lost Balloon was created on 1961-12-28.

When we fly on earth or on other planets, we call this atmospheric flight. When we fly without the forces of a planet pulling on the spacecraft, which only occurs in space, hence we call it space flight. The reason these are differentiated is because of whether or not there are air molecules are present. With air molecules (atmospheric flight) Bernoulli's Principle applies, which explains air flow, and in the space flight it does not apply.
The first untethered manned flight in a hot air balloon was accomplished on Novemebr 21, 1873, in Paris, France.
The first nonstop balloon flight around the world took 19 days, 21 hours, and 55 miles.
