Because the people at area 51 don't want any one to know, because if other people knew, they would come to steel the contense of area 51.
There is also said to be aliens hidden in area 51, because the government doesn't want the people to know about them and be frightened. Area 51 also has other government secrets. I don't understand why the government has to hide things from the public.

∙ 13y agoI think they are hiding something very important at area 51. If you look at it from Google Earth it is to small of a facility to do any research, so there must be an underground base. Also aided by Google Earth there have been images found of doorways or passages lading into the ground. So it might not be as small as we thought. But whatever they are hiding will change the way we look at th Earth and will alter all we knew.
