The coolant temperature sensor on a 1997 Lincoln Continental is located on top of the engine, near the upper radiator hose. It constantly relays the engine's temperature to the computer.
You need to get the temperature sensor repaired or, more likely, replaced.
located in the cylinder head
IAT= intake are temperature sensor ECT= engine coolant temp. sensor
my temperature gauge on my car bmw 318i give me error reading its reach red zone while the engine is cool and i already change the temperature sensor why?
The 1995 Lincoln Town Car coolant temperature gauge sensor can be found on the front of the engine. The coolant temperature sensor will be a few inches above the thermostat housing.
Most likely a bad sensor
The sensor its self is to the right of the steering column just below the dashboard. (source: Lincon LS User manual)
Be careful there is a temperature coolant switch mounted next to the thermostat housing. I thought this was the sensor and replaced it by mistake. There is another sensor.
The outside temperature sensor on a 2003 Altima is located just behind the front bumper. it is on the passenger side of the vehicle in the undercarriage.
Which one, there's aqmbient, coolantg and trans.
The computer monitors the outside temperature through the sensor and will not activate the a/c when the temperature reading is too cold. It is not an expensive part but shop labour can be expensive. With the sensor replaced and reading proper the a/c function should return to normal. Hope this helps. "G"
