I'm not positive, but I think that the DRL indicator on the dash blinks to tell you that one or more of the DRL lamps are burned out. I'd replace them. FriPilot I have owned a 98 Sunfire since it was brand new..I have had this problem twice, once when a headlight had burned out---put new one in--stopped blinking and DRL's worked fine. The other time (last night) was a small side indicator light on the side of the car (part of the turn signal light) replaced the small bulb---DRL problem solved. I would double check all bulbs--do this at night---I couldn't see that the small side indicator light was out during the day. My bet is you'll find a bulb out.
