Often the groom will give a toast to his bride and also the Best Man. At the request of a parent it is quite acceptable for a father or mother to give a toast as well. There are no strict rules any long to what one wishes to do at their own wedding.
The first toast is done by the best man, always. Thereafter, any toast can be made and they should be considered a compliment of love by any who make them, that is as long as they are tactful. Traditions will be different depending on the country you live in but in the UK, it's not usually expected that the Groom's Parents will make a toast. The order for UK wedding speeches is normally, Father of the Bride, Groom then Best Man.
you should toast, how you feel about your bride/groom, how your relationship would be like (don't forget about best man's speach).
At the rehearsal dinner, the host should get the party started with a welcome toast before the 1st course is served. The rest of the toasts should occur after dessert to avoid interfering with the waitstaff. If it is a buffet and more casual, the host may do a welcome toast after guests have served themselves and follow with a toast to the bride and the groom. After the host, the father of the bride can stand, followed by attendants and any other guests who may wish to speak. At the wedding, toasts are typically offered after the cutting of the cake. If you are doing a champagne toast, be sure all the guests have been served a flute. A common wedding trend is to forget the champagne toast" since many just take a sip and it's not cost-effective. It is perfectly fine for guests to toast with whatever they are drinking at the time of toasting. Since toasting is a highlight of the wedding reception, below are samples of toasts to help the best man and others on the wedding day. Remember your toast should last no longer than two minutes since the more you talk, the less people remember. If you forget what to say, remember this easy formula: Start with a little story that conveys the essence of the bride and groom, say how it relates to the happy occasion and how your life has benefited from knowing them and end by wishing them well
The wedding surrounds the bride and groom and neither have too many responsibilities with the exception of: * The bride and groom have the first dance together * The bride should dance with her father first, then her father-in-law or any male representing the groom in place of the groom's father. * Mingling with the guests and thanking them for coming.
Joke: Why did the cannibal go to the wedding?Punchline: The cannibal went to the wedding to toast the bride and roast the groom (cos he's bigger). The joke plays on the words toast and roast as they relate to food.
You say congratualations and maybe some parts of his past that your proud of
Often they do, or they toast immediately after cutting the cake.
The groom's father is expected to wear formal clothing to the wedding.
yes every moring for the rest of his life XD lolz
As long as the mother of the groom is not there and the groom agrees then there is nothing wrong with the father bringing his girlfriend to the rehearsal dinner and wedding as long as the bride also agrees. It is up to the bride and groom. Most times the bride just wants her parents there so the mother and father should try to get along for their daughter's wedding.Wedding, yes. Rehearsal dinner no, unless the mother is not present. This sort of thing should be guided by the feelings of all involved...the girlfriend last.
