If you dont feel the same way, you just dont. Dont settle or do it for him. Feelings like that arent something that should be forced or faked. Go on a few semi-dates, were the two of you can be alone but not really alone, like a dance club or restaurant, a couple of times and if it doesnt change then you have your answer and you be honest with him. You should try it if you're not sure if you like him or not! If it works out and you end up liking him, good for you! If not, let him go easy! If you don't like him, don't let it go too far though! Answer you should honestly tell him that you're not sure your interested. Don't lead him by saying nothing he could get hurt and heart broken
