Well, Sometimes I call my sister in law "honey" because I'm used to doing that around the house (to my wife of course). Sometimes my mother calls me by my brother's name...... So if he's been married to her for long it could just be a mistake. Does he do it all the time? As long as you don't have a weird feeling about how they behave with each other I don't see a problem.
