Take a voltmeter and hook it up to the battery posts and read what the voltage is. It should be 12 volts or more. Now start the motorcycle and check the voltage, if it goes up, it's charging. If not, check the battery to make sure it is not dry.
Most likely the alternator, voltage should be approximately 14 volts with the engine running.
Check the voltage on the battery when it's not running and then start the tractor and check the voltage again - it should read higher than without the motor running and if it doesn't your charging system isn't working.
Greater than 1 Megohm
Battery type: YB14L Initial Charging Rate: 1.4A 10 hours Specific Gravity: 1.280 Voltage should be at least 12V DC
check charging system voltage it should have 13.8 ---14.3 volts it alsocould be a bad diode in your alternator most times a new alt does the trick
Check the voltage at the battery posts with the engine idling. It should read from 13.5 to 15.5 volts.
it depends on the specification,,,,,,in saudi arabia as per sec standards 152kv voltage should be applied for a period of one hour.
Your car should be charging at around 14 volts. I would suspect the voltage regulator is at fault if it is charging too high. You can replace the alternator. If you can find an aftermarket voltage regulator you can replace just that. It is on the back of the alternator.
it means that the charging system voltage is too high, and that the Battery voltage sense input is above target charging voltage during engine operation. which can also occur when you are charging your battery during operation, it has happened to me, if that be the case then its not serious, just unplug your battery for a few minutes to reset the diagnostic control, replug and restart your engine. if your error code does not reappear, then your good. if it does, you should get it checked out to be on the safe side.
Engine running you should read from 13.5 to 16 volts at the battery posts. Less or more and the alternator is suspect.
Most USBs on laptops are 5v +/- 10%. You should not worry about charging your phone through the USB. As a matter of fact, in most cases if a phone is getting an incorrect voltage or too many amps, it will display a warning and just stop the charging.
