Oscars are from the Amazon and its tributaries. They like to be in very clean/pure slightly acid water that is quite warm. Around 78F to 85F is a good range for them.
It should be between 63 F and 72 F. :) .
i have my heater on between 26-28 i dnt no wat temp that is but every heater ive seen have the numbers on them
Fish are cold blooded, but need to be adjusted to the temp of the water. Slowly if its hot water being adjusted them you need to slowly rise the temp of the water to the temp of the water out side and the opposite for lowering the temp by the way this is all wrong so please don't read that.
Provided the water temp does not get below 75F or above 85F. Oscars are hard to see in a pond. They evolved to blend into the background and disappear when viewed from above.
It depends on the fish. If its a tropical fish that is accustomed to salt water, you need salt water and you need to keep the water at a warmer than norm temperature. If its just a regular goldfish, freshwater at room temp should do just fine.
I do not think blindness is what you should be concerned about, I would hope that the Oscar is in a tank by itself, if it is in with other larger fish than that could be the problem. Second if your Oscar is in by itself and you say it is banging into everything you should remove some or all of the items in the tank you could leave 1 or 2 items in just to give the tank some depth. Third I do not know how large or how old you Oscar is, I do not know if you are feeding it guppies or gold fish depending on the size try some of these feeder fish and stay away from lunch meats or raw meat, Fourth and last make sure the pH of your water is on the color chart, and make or check the temp of the water, when you say laying on the bottom of the tank, I hope it is in the upright position then you will have a good chance of bringing the fish around, you can also make a partial water change removing some water off the bottom with a siphon.
The slyder requires different lighting than the Oscar. The trutle may try to eat the fish. Unless he is a larger fish. The slyder does not require a temp controlled environment like the Oscar. They also require different pH levels. You could try it but I would not expect great things for the Oscar. Turtles are also very dirty and may require another filter poss and under gravel. To make sure you turn over enough water to keep it cleaned.
Cold Fish are quite happy with room temprature water. If you leave the tank for about 5 days it should definatly be ok to put your fish in. About the ph.... i honestly dont have a clue! hope this helps a bit...(probably not very much) x
do some research on them, water temp is the most critical thing for fish, if you place a fish into a cold water system from a warm water system they will go into shock,
Yes, if the water was too cold, the fish wouldn't be there in the first place. But, if all of a sudden the water temp. dropped or increased, it would effect the fish.
Unicorn water
Saltwater fish require salt water, and fresh water fish need fresh water, you can't mix them, or the fish will die. You need to look at each individual fishes needs as to what temp they need their water to be. There are some saltwater fish that can survive in fresh water, but it is not healthy for them.
