∙ 13y agoKeep calm, steer straight, and generally you can bend your head down and see ahead enough by looking above the dash and below the trailing edge of the hood. DO NOT slam on the brakes as you may be rear-ended and/or lose control. Signal, slow as soon as possible and gently steer off the road as vision allows for a safe exit. BE AWARE of passing traffic when exiting your vehicle! This has happened to me on two different vehicles (attendant at a station didn't completely close the hood). Good idea to always check others work.
Safely pull over to the side of the road as soon as possible. Turn on your hazard lights to indicate to other drivers that you are having an issue. Do not attempt to drive with obstructed vision.
