First, stealing is not only immoral it is illegal. Second, if a person steals, they will steal from anyone. If you keep the act secret, the person could try to steal from you, or even go as far as try to point the finger at you (a thief is also a liar). You could become the target of an investigation.
So, go to your boss or supervisor. Be bold and put your account in writing. Give whatever 'proof' you know or have about the theft. Let the thief deal with the consequences of their action. The employer has options of calling the police-- if so, cooperate with the police. Basically, you do what is right even when someone else does wrong.
