Unless your ex is around because you have had children together and he has come to visit the children, then you shouldn't be seeing your ex at all. We sometimes forget what we tell our new partner about our ex's and men have minds like steel traps when it comes to this sort of thing. Think back! What have you told your husband about your ex? Perhaps your ex is trouble as soon as he walks up the driveway. If there are children involved perhaps you could meet your ex somewhere and either let him have the children for the day or do something together with the children. If no children are involved then I suggest you quit having him in your life. Yes, you said it, "The past is in the past." However, you should sit down with your husband and tell him to stop making rude remarks, but be warned ... are you sure your husband doesn't have good reason. Only you can decide this. I was married before as well, but had no children so it was a clean break. I walked away and never looked back. I seldom speak of my ex to my husband and why should I. That was then and this is now. Good luck Marcy
