∙ 17y agoI understand your dilemma and feelings. It is so difficult to wait for an answer. I am going through the same thing right now. I feel you should keep calling. It proves your persistence. You also have a right to know what is going on. If you call, be polite. Tell them that you want to know but also want to learn from your experience. And, if you gain info you can improve your skills for next time. When you call, make sure you ask to speak to the right person. I feel you should feel confident, but also be ready if you are not the successful candidate. Please do not lose hope because in my situation, the hiring "squad" had family and personal emergencies to attend to. Maybe this is in your case and the office people don't want to relay any info. One famous technology compnay here in Seattle is well known for that :) There are employment laws which require employers to provide you with their decision, however, these are frequently overlooked. I have learned to let the employer's ethics and communication style tell me something about whether or not I respect how they are handling the hiring process. Remember this is a mutual interview and screen, and there are a wide variety of management styles and signifcant variation in business ethics across employers; I used all available indicators to help me determine if I respected the organization before accepting an offer. ∙ 12y agoYou never know so don't wait, just give them a cell number as the market is tough now. You may never hear from them or they may be hiring for "future" openings-not immediate. employers never tell you so assume you won't get one and keep applying at places until you do.
