Depending on the recipe and ingredients, lightly greasing or spraying once over with a spray like Pam should suffice. If you are using cheese or other sticky ingredients, you might want to use a little extra.

Yes you can. I've used it before I realized that there's now a pam spray specifically for baking which has a built in flour with it. They'll both work though for baking a cake and any other baking as well. Good luck with your baking!

A pan spray isn't always necessary , especially in the case of coated pans ( Teflon , etc..). It is a good idea to coat it anyway , in order to minimize the risk of it sticking , especially with something like an upside down pineapple cake ! the sugars in many cakes can cause some sticking , even with a coated pan .
