Relax, A colonoscopy requires air to be pumped into the bowel, inflating the organ so the camera at the end of the scope can image properly. That air can take from an hour to a few days to be expelled. If you have not been given specific instruction on how to reduce the discomfort then an over the counter simethicone product like GasX will help.

should one who had a colonoscopy 6 yrs ago should now be diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer & be told that it is adenocarcinoma & not colorectal cancer
You could have an infection. They may have "nicked" the wall of the colon. Didn't the doctor give you post op info about this? A high fever of 102 or above should be a concern and you should call.
Colonoscopy is being used increasingly as a screening tool in both asymptomatic patients and patients at risk for colon cancer. It has been recommended as a screening test in all people 50 years or older.
Depending on your age, maybe it is time for another colonoscopy. That aside, you may want to revisit your diet to be sure that you are getting enough water and fiber. An apple a day really can help the situation, as can drinking a few (2-3) glasses of water. For most people, 5 servings (1/2 cup) of fruits, nuts and vegetables are recommended.
I'm assuming so. I am preparing for a colonoscopy right now. I think as long as there are no chunks or anything else. Also, there should be no cloudiness what so ever. I'm not a doctor though but this is the stage that I am in. I have a little over 50 ounces left to drink but my bowel is completely clear with no chunks so I am going to stop drinking it. Good Luck!
Margaret, I'd be happy to answer your question. Assuming you received the typically-administered medications for colonoscopy, the anxiety and panic attacks you are experiencing are not related to the anesthesia. These medications are long out of your system by now. Furthermore, they would be expected to have the opposite effect, as the most common medications used during colonoscopy involve reducing pain and anxiety.
