What should you do if your dog has swallowed a little bit of tin foil?

You should keep a close eye on the dog for the next day or two. Make sure it is having bowel movements and watch for the foil to be passed through it's system. If the dog is not eliminating or you see any signs of bloating or other changes in the dogs behavior I would suggest getting it to your veterinarian. Often dogs will pass solid objects through their system with out any problems. It can depend on the size of the object as well.

It depends on how much they ate.

You get to monitor their poop. They either pass it in 24-48 hours or it's become lodged in their intestinal tract and will have to be surgically removed. The first is preferable but not pretty and, again depending on quantity, may require some assistance -- dogs aren't shy about that kind of thing.

The second is even more of a pain in the butt, but can these days usually be done endoscopically, still pretty pricey.

If it's a large quantity, get 'em in to your primary Vet ASAP.

well what you have to do is eat foil yourself and then go to the doctors get an exray pertend its your dog eat yourself then eat the dog simple
