- Your best friend has to realize that is up to this young man to decide who he loves. It is a disappointment to your best friend, but she has to realize you cannot make someone love you. If this situation is going to cause the break up of best friends then you need to sit down with your best friend and agree to both walk away from this young man. No man is worth fighting over or break up a good friendship. However, best friends, no matter how much their heart is hurt over the situation would bow out and be happy their best friend is in love.
