If the old plugs and wires were bad I would expect the engine to start and run better.
Obviously- the spark plugs were not the issue :)
Changing spark plugs is relatively easy. Disconnect the batter and spark plug cables, and remove the old spark plugs. Next replace the spark plugs with new ones, reconnect the spark plug cables and battery.
It should try to start at least. It may or may not actually start but you should hear it fire on the 2 good plugs. Why not just replace all 4 spark plugs?

With the new fuel injected engine and improved ignition systems you should be able to go 100,000 before tune-up

Should be under the hood, on driver's side, towards the front. Should see 4 plugs plugged into it.

This will dpend on the type of vehicle you have,as engines do vary. Generally speaking a socket wrench should work for changing your spark plugs.
Use the same spark plug that came in it, Champion for best results.
Should be near 100 psi with all plugs out, throttle open, and a fully charged battery.
They should not need changing until 90,000 miles.

So long as you have not touched the injectors or emptied the fuel pump you should be fine.
