Normal phone, normal laptop. Phones cant replace laptops no matter how hard they try. the most phones are good for is casual web browsing. Checking email, rss feeds, web comics MAYBE, quickly accessing data or looking something up. They cannot do anything quick enough to be able to replace a laptop. Also, touch screens are somewhat overrated right now. The iPod/iphone has a great one, but devices that use a stylus arent meant to be touched with fingers. For that reason, a laptop might be the best money/value purchase. Newer hardware will not be available until spring and most laptops are very competitively priced, assuming your needs are fulfilled by an off the shelf model. if you do not know the difference between one that is off the shelf and one that you configure yourself, chances are you wont be needing a custom configured one. something around 12-15 inches is a great size, as its not hard to carry around. and if you can put something like Ubuntu on it and slowly teach yourself about linux, your laptop (or computer) will never become obsolete.
You could ask for games for the Xbox or PS3 or clothes.
No, you should always match the voltage requirements. Not only will your battery not charge you could actually damage it.
Well it depends.. has the laptop been dropped recently? could be a motherboard issue. Also try opening the laptop and make sure the keyboard is connected to the motherboard. Most likely it could be a keyboard gone bad in the hardware department which you would have to replace it.
Try to find third-party companies on the market that are selling laptop screens since most laptop manufacturers charge so much. It could be in a range $100-200 depending on model for Sony screen. You should be able to replace the screen yourself (it is easy even if you are not a technical person - use some on-line guide).
If the laptop is no longer under warranty, the cost of fixing the monitor would likely be more than the cost of the laptop. However, you can connect the laptop to any desktop monitor, you just need to buy a simple connector you can get at most any computer store, and you could also buy a used desktop monitor for very little.
It would depend on what size and make your monitor is. It could cost anywhere from $250-400.
I found this ASUS laptop at Tigerdirect, i used dollars but it should be just under 300 pounds. Its got a fast Core 2 Duo, big screen, and could play decent games on it. :)
You could invite your Muslim friends for Christmas, I don't see a problem in that. Just prepare something they could eat (Halal) and everything should be fine
For Scrooge it was the Ghost of Christmas Yet to come as he was showing him what could happen should he not change his ways
No. You could use regular computers to. You could use a laptop to.
We cannot see your laptop. Please provide the specific details of your laptop.
Sometimes, sometimes not. Would you, could you, give them the Moon?
