us 12 year old like to play BUT we dont like toys so something he can play with thats not a toy how about legos yes legos are a toy but not a kids toy adult play with then to now there are many types of LEGO so get the lego set of whatever he likes for example he may love dogs so get him a dog lego set or he may like starwars so get him startwars legos hope this was helpful
