You REALLY should not swim for at least 7 days, and you should try to prevent from water getting in it at all. It also helps to put a cotton ball in it while showering. You should'nt share your headphones for a while (to prevent giving it to someone).

Best Methods to Relieve the Pain of an Ear Infection?

The pain of an ear infections are intense. If an ear infection is suspected, rest is first on the list with respect to healing. Discontinue swimming, scuba diving, bending or exercising while experiencing an ear infection. Cutting down on activity is necessary in an attempt to equalize the ears. In addition to rest, taking one or two tablets of acetaminophen (Tylenol), or ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin), every six hours can relieve ear infection pain.
