Ford 302 the #1 cylinder is on the passenger side front. Chevy 302 the #1 cylinder is on the driver's side front. Remember the standard 302 Ford uses this firing order: 302 FIRING ORDER 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 The 302 HO however uses the 351 firing order which is: 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8
