government corruption
It is an often small, temporary committee of members of Parliament (or in the US: Congress) that is appointed to deal with or investigate a specific question or problem.
The representatives of the original 13 states sent to Philadelphia for the U.S. Constitutional Convention (originally "Philadelphia Convention") are called delegates. The resolution calling for delegates to the Convention was issued by the Continental Congress on February 21, 1787: "... it is expedient that on the second Monday in May next a Convention of delegates who shall have been appointed by the several States be held at Philladelphia for the sole and express purpose of revising the Articles of Confederation...."Although a total of 70 delegates were appointed by the States, 55 ended up attending (none came from Rhode Island), and but 39 actually signed the final document.
Never fast enough!! Seriously, delegates run whenever there is going to be an election.
Did you mean How often congress votes in Washington, or How often are there elections to vote for congressmen in Washington
The Articles of Confederation were adopted by the Second Continental Congress on November 15, 1777, but did not become effective until March 1, 1781, when they were finally approved by all 13 states. Under the Articles, the national government consisted of a unicameral (one-house) legislature (often called the Confederation Congress); there was no national executive or judiciary. Delegates to Congress were appointed by the state legislatures, and each state had one vote. Congress had the authority to declare war, develop foreign policy, coin money, regulate Native American affairs in the territories, run the post office, borrow money, and appoint army and navy officers. Quite significantly, however, all powers not specifically delegated to Congress belonged to the states.
"apathetic" seems to often be a good choice . "indifference" or "insensitive" might be better in some cases.
