The thermostat should be located on the motor where the top radiator hose meets the motor. The thermostat housing should be held on with 2 bolts. remove bolts, replace thermostat and gasket, and reinstall. Top off the radiator with coolant. The t-stat is actually located on the left side of the engine (looking at it from the front) at the end of the LOWER RAD HOSE It does have 2 10 mm bolts that hold it on
on a 2002 it is a 3/8 th Allen wrench Actually the proper ones are a 7mm and 10 mm for the bracket bolts
7mm hex socket for the front caliper and 10 mm hex for the bracket bolts. For the rear if you have disc it's 19mm for the caliper
1. Drain the cooling system.2. Remove the lower radiator hose from thermostat outlet.3. Remove the thermostat outlet bolts and outlet. Remove the thermostat.4. Clean the mating surfaces of the radiator outlet and the radiator outlet pipe.To install:1. Install the thermostat.2. Install the thermostat outlet and bolts.3. Install the coolant outlet attaching bolts and tighten the thermostat outlet bolts to 10 ft. lbs. (14 Nm).4. Install the lower radiator hose to thermostat outlet.5. Fill the cooling system.6. Inspect for leaks.
the hose on top the radiator goes to the thermoustat two bolts hold the housing on the manifold take them out and replace thermostat
at the end of the upper rad hose on engine end. remove alternator and behind this you will see a casting with two 10 mm bolts on top and one underneath. remove these bolts and there is the thermostat.
(For a V6) just follow the top hose comming out of the top of the radiator, this hose will go into the manifold, if you look at it you will see 2 bolts....the thermostat is located under those 2 bolts....
I used a 55 torx key and removed one of the bolts but stripped the other. DOn't use a Torx. It is a 10 hex(metric)
very simple. follow the radiator hose on the drivers side from the radiator to the motor. that metal peice that the pipe is clamped on is the thermostat housing. theres 2 bolts holding it down. easiest to leave the hose on the housing and just remove the bolts. there is your thermostat.
Check where the top radiator hose enters the block. There should be a housing that can be removed with 2 bolts. That should be the location of the thermostat.

15 millimeter and/or 13mm.
