On the drums there are two holes. You need to insert two to bolts (size 10 metric) in to the holes as yoo tighten the bolts it pushes the drum off. bolts need to be about 3 inches long. i could be wrong about the bolt size

The ball hitch and coupler must be the same size.
The calipers are held by 17 mm bolts.
you can put a hitch on any kind of car just gotta get the right size
The hitch receiver on a 2003 Ford Explorer is 2" x 2".
Make sure to check the ball size and hitch size are the same first. Other then that yes, it just means the ball can withstand less weight then the receiver hitch.
