It is real easy. It took me about 45 minutes to replace the starter on a 1990 Maxima GXE.Disconect the negative battery cable on the battery. The solenoid is next to the battery on the side of the engine compartment attached by a couple screws. To locate it, follow the wire from the battery. On the negative cable of the battery, there is another wire clipped to it. Follow that up to the solenoid. 1) Disconnect the positive battery cable from the battery 2) disconnect the 2 wires from the visible screws on the old solenoid, and gently pull the third wire (located lower than the other two on the solenoid. 3) remove the 2 screws holding the old solenoid in place. 4)Screw in the new solenoid, and make sure that the 3 wires attach to exactly where they were on the old one. If the third wire is on top it is installed wrong, flip it over. 5) reconnect the positive battery cable. on some Lincoln such as that the solenoid is on the starter under the car would have to remove the starter to remove the solenoid. best off getting whole starter with solenoid.

Yep, all you got to do is get some copper wire and a 9 volt battery, and wrap the wire repeatedly around the metal part of the screwdriver, and connect the wire one end to the positive terminal of the battery, the other to the negative end, then let it sit for an hour or two and the screwdriver will now be able to better grip screws and such.

This worked on my 2001 Volvo S40 1.9 T. Dated 2011-05-30 As far as I know only the clock and the radio code need to be reset when the battery is disconnected. Warning, use this procedure only if not working with any fuel related issues which I guess would mostly be when you replace the car's battery. Connect the plus side of a small 12 volt battery via alligator clips to the small positive wire that attaches to the car battery and the negative of the small battery to a convenient place on the engine block. Positive to positive and negative to the engine block. Then remove the battery clamp screws and remove the battery. This might work even with a small 9 volt battery like the kind used in a smoke detector but I have not tried this so be aware. Replace the car battery, tighten the battery claps and remove the alligator clips and the small battery. Alternatively buy a gizmo that plugs into the cigarette lighter / power outlet and turn the key to the 1 or 2 position (not sure) although I have never tired this. Good luck Brian VE6IMB
