Does a homelite chain saw have points?
NO points. 2 and 4 cycle engines used on outdoor lawn equipment, chain saws, leaf blowers, trimmers etc. use a simple magneto ignition. the flywheel has a magnet on it and as it spins it passes the coil pick up and as it does the creates a magnetic field to form and after it passes the coil fires. Even a brand new Homelite uses the same ignition system
