An fully grown adult will have an upper shell (carapace) up to 10 inches in length.
Red Eared Sliders get to be 10-12 inches long. Females will grow to be larger than males.
Red eared sliders can get up to 8in to 10in for males and 10in to 12in for females
Also, they must have a heat lamp of at least 60 watts, located above their land, so that they can have a place to bask. You will need a water heater that will keep the water temp from 75-80 degrees F. Keep a thermometer in the water to ensure that the temperature is staying constant. The basking place should be 80 F - 85 F.

Red Eared Slider turtles get to be 10-12 inches long, females being bigger than males.
Adult red ear turtles reach up to 25 cm (10 inches) in carapace length.
i have heard anywhere from 5 to 12 inches
well they will get as big as you let them, if your have a small aquarium, they will stay relatively small. A big tank (like 50 or 60 gallons is recomended) they will reach their normal, and healthy size. a small tank is really cruel. they will get up to 12 inches at top, healthy size. 10 gallons per ich is healthy. a healthy turtle is alot more active, fun to watch, and most of all worth your money!
I have seen red eared sliders (females) as big as sewer lids. This is not an unusual size in the wild. I often saw them this size by the river and lake on our farm. So, it depends on how big your tank is and if you have males or females. In my experience, they will continue to grow larger and you will need to provide quite a large tank for them. They are quite messy, like all aquatic turtles, so know what you are commiting to before you get them. They are rewarding animals if you are willing to put in the time, space and effort!
The red eared slider typically grows to approximately 203 mm with a maximum size of 289 mm recorded (Conant and Collins, 1991)!
If they are kept in the right conditions, and are healthy, well fed, and looked after, red eared sliders can grow VERY BIG, usually around the size of a dinner plate.
A male red eared slider will reach its sexual maturity between 2-3 years, and the female 3-4 years.
Turtles will grow to their tank size, which means if you have a baby turtle in a big tank by it's self, it will grow quite quickly, whereas if you had a bigger turtle in a small tank it would probably not grow much more, and if so, pretty slowly.
Turtles can reproduce when they're sexually mature, usually around 5 years old.
Male red eared sliders can breed when they are two to four years old, and females when they are five to seven years old.
About the size of a dinner plate.
Ghost Red Eared Slider Turtles will get to be the same size as normal Red Eared Slider Turtles, which is 10-12 inches.
Depends on what size she is
Feed your red-eared slider regularly. Turtles require different amounts of food depending on their size. If you are unsure how much food to feed your turtle, consult a veterinarian. Feed your red-eared slider a high-protein commercial turtle kibble, available at your local pet store. To supplement this food, give your red-eared slider chopped vegetables such as zucchini, kale, dandelions, squash, endive leaves and collard greens.
It's possible.
A red eared slider turtle grow to be about the size of a plate. Females - 25 cm Males - 15 cm
The way to take care of a baby slider is u have 2 go 2 a pet store and ask 4 repto min its the smallest bottle feed the turtle about 3 or 4 it depends thoe..... If it eats half of them then that's how many they are feeden..........then as they grow get the bigger bottles till they are the size of the plate. Most Turtles age very slowly. The red eared Slider can remain the size of a quarter for about 1-2 years, but by age 10 he will be the size of a small dinner plate, and by age 30 (they can live to be about 50)your Turtle can weigh up t0 20 lbs.
Depending on the region where the turtle lives, different predators will eat turtles. Birds of prey, alligators, snakes, raccoons, dogs, cats and larger turtles will all eat red-eared sliders depending on their size. Smaller turtles are more easily caught than others.
"Unfortunately, you can not tell the age of a turtle by it's size. Turtles grow depending on how big their environment is." Actually, no. A red eared slider does NOT grow to their environment. If you feed it, it will grow. If not it will, obviously not grow then die. But there is no way to tell how old a RES is unless you hatched it or know who hatched it. It does not matter how big it is. Some owners over feed or under feed their turtles so there is no way determining it by size either.
Yes. We have eight red-eared sliders....about five of them are at least the size of a dinner plate although I've never really measured.
Yes... all red ear slider turtles eat fish. The main factor is size. If your fish is bigger than your turtle... there's nothing to worry. But.. if your turtle is quite bigger than your fishes... be assured they are all going to end up their life being turtle poops... :P
A 17-inch red-eared slider would probably hold the Guinness World Record for biggest red-eared slider turtle. A very large adult red-eared slider is a little over a foot long from the tip of the nose to the tip of the tail, with a shell around 8 to 9 inches long. A more average size (especially for males, which are generally smaller) is around 9 to 10 inches from nose to tail, with a 6 to 7 inch shell.
