"19 millimeters for the 2.2-4 cylinder".........I found this out myself because every forum I found, no one answered the question. They just went off on tangents.
I did not need a 35 dollar 50 mm. holding tool and removed the bad pulley from my 92 accord, and the good one I used off my 93 accord parts car very easily! Both with the belts removed! ( a 93 accord is 19 MM, too!)
Here's how:
1) Jack up the car and take the drivers side front wheel off
2) Remove the pulley access panel (2 -10 Millimeter bolts)
"The pulley is now accessible"
3) Heat the bolt for 3 or 4 minutes with a propane torch to soften the
thread lock.
4) Turn your air compressor all the way up ( i have a 90 psi impact and I
been over driving it since day 1 ( owned it 5 years...cheap advance
auto model)
5) Now hold impact on it, mine both came off in 5 or 6 seconds ( yes
it is "lefty loosey threads"
Note: The first impact socket I used (a craftsman brand ) broke. Bought
a better/ thicker one from Napa. Worked great!
Hope this helps someone!
The crank pulley bolt size the harmonic balancer for a 1992 Honda Accord 2.2 is a deep socket 19mm.
19mm
which direction does a crank shaft pully bolt screw out on a 2002 honda accord lx 2.3l eng. clockwise or counterclockwise?
No it is not.
You don't
Counterclockwise. Skweekah
It comes off like a normal bolt, counter clockwise. You will need to rent a special tool to hold the crank pulley still while you loosen the bolt. It is on very tight.
clockwise it is reverse threads
crankshaft pulley bolt is left hand thread,so it will come out opposite direction to normal bolts
Impact wrench. It's the ONLY thing that works.
disconnect the battery, remove the bolt in the center of the pulley, then use a harmonic balancer tool to remove it
