On my 1990 Astro Van w/ 4.3L engine and A/C the idler has a 3/8" dia. bolt 4" long (maybe 3 1/2" - it seemed a bit longer than necessary). I'm faced with moving the idler because the A/C bearing is failing and the A/C is no good. The new location requires a 6" long bolt so I'm assuming that would go for a vehicle that was sold without A/C.
Take the belt off, take the bolt off of the idler pulley, take the pulley off, put a new one on replace the bolt, and put the belt back on
Remove the belt, then remove the bolt holding in the idler pulley.
Take the belt off, un-bolt the idler pulley, bolt the new pulley on, and finally put the belt back on and Viola!!

NO it is not.
The idler tensioner pulley on your 1999 Ford F3 50 pickup truck is held in place with a single retaining bolt. The retaining bolt will go through the middle of the pulley. Tighten the retaining bolt to install the tensioner pulley.
Belt tensioner? Idler pulley?
Should only be one bolt in the middle of the pulley that releases it.
from the bottom 13mm loosen idler pulley bolt then turn adjuster bolt under pulley
NO
M10 x1.50
Adjustment is on the idler pulley with the tensioner bolt sitting right below the alternator. I also had to loosen the center bolt on the idler pulley before it would move.
