Really need to know what year, what engine and if it is 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive to answer that correctly.
Directly, no.
1989 Chevy s10
If it is a 4 wheel drive, 4.3 engine, S10, the oil filter is located under the front of the vehicle behind an access door marked "Oil Filter".
I have an 1988 Chevy S10 w/2.8L V6 and it uses this oil filter.
Engine oil, 4.5 qts with filter change.
If you are changing the oil you should ALWAYS change the filter too.
2.2L 1998 Chevy S10 holds 4.5 quarts of oil with the filter.
Right by your oil filter
The oil filter on a 1999 Chevy S10 is located by the oil pan and the drive axle. The oil pan is where you will release to old oil from the 45 degree bolt on the bottom of the car. Use an OEM or better oil filter for long engine life. -Brian Mathers
There was one on my 83 Chevy S10 2.8L V6.
The oil filter on a 1987 Chevy S10 truck is located on the bottom, right side of the engine. It is positioned on its side to allow for easy removal and replacement. If the S10 truck is a 4+4 with the 4.3 engine, the engine oil filter would be accessed from the top, under the hood in the drivers side front corner of the engine compartment.
I`m not sure if the swith is the same on a 2000 S10 but the 93`s have it mounted to the oil filter housing.I you.
