The ignition module for your van is located under the hood against the firewall. It has a fair size harness connected to it, with a bolt through the center of it to connect it to the module
4.5 mm but has to be deepwell
There is a good chance that it takes a standard size socket rather than a metric socket, it was like this on my Toyota Celica. 17mm
it takes 1" socket on it good luck on it
AnswerThe ignition module is mounted to the front of the distributor. It is a long rectangular piece (about 1"x4") with wires connected to one side. Yes the Ignition module is rectangular piece (about 1"x4) with wire harness connected to it, but some Ford Contour does not have distributor, they have coil park, and some of this car have their ignition module built in the PCM. Year, Make, Model, and Engine size makes a different.
It takes a 1 3/8 socket. That is one and three eights.
It takes a 1 1/4 inch socket
Without year make model & engine size you get a guess. Ignition module, coil, distributor
depends on eng size. The distributor contains the coils and module 3.0 and 2.5 if bad the whole dist needs replaced not servicable
the ignition module can be in 1 of 2 places for that year and depending on the size of motor. it will either be on the side of the distributor or on the driver side fender. if it's on the distributor, it will be gray and have a plug in it. if it's on the fender, it will be a electrical box and have 2 plugs on it.
its inside the distributor cap should have two-three plugs going to it, it is about the same size as a domino(black).
