to remove spare wheel on 2001 f250, you will need the key that fits the crank on the spare wheel carrier the key fits the end of the jack handle and then fits into the wheel carrier to allow the lowering of the wheel if you do not have the key you can purchase a replacement from "McGard,Inc"(1-800-444-5847). you will need VIN number from truck to order new key and the key will cost about $25-00 there are several hundred different variations on the key, i have access to about 8 ford trucks and not one key would interchange with others
The Spare Tire is located in the driver's side rear. You need to press down on a latch that is close to the window to unlock the plastic cover.
Balancing the spare tire is probably a good idea (if it hadn't been on the car previously) but alinement is not necessary.
1. Open the rear doors and remove the rubber plug from the floor (it's in the center and about 2" back from the lock catch plate. 2. From the tool kit (located in the panel above the rear nearside wheel arch) use the wheel brace to lower the spare wheel and release a fair amount of slack on the cable as you will need to move it. 3. Lift the plastic cover/sleeve from the end of the cable revealing the nipple, rotate the cable through 90 degrees and slide the nipple and wire out of the wheel securing plate . 4. Remove the wheel securing plate and tether by undoing the thumbscrew.
Try using a spare key if that doesn't work you need a locksmith.
I would look at craigslist for spare auto parts at a discount. You can search your area for what you need. After you search, you need to email or call to negotiate a price.
inside of trunk take carpet up and there you see one nut which need to be unscrewed and that make wheel holder to come down outside of car, just bow and you will take it out
The battery is in the driver's front fender in front of the wheel. It is directly below where the (+) and (-) terminals are in your engine bay. You will need to remove the wheel and the wheel cover to access it.
The battery is hiding in the frunk (front trunk) under the spare tire in a recessed hole. You will need to remove the spare tire and the plastic cover to access it. Hope this helped Dan
Spare sails, needle & thread, spare ropes, bilge pump, possibly a hull repair kit, spare helm parts.
Obviously Yes, spare tire can prove to be a life saver...imagine in a time of emergency your car gets punctured at that time your spare tire would save you!!!
It is in the trunk where there would normally be a spare tire. The BMW 650i does not have a spare tire as it has run flat tires and does not need one.
