Answer If you are checking # on a Chevy head they are under the valve covers in the rocker vally close to the center of the head . the # there can tell you when they were made and for what size engine and also the size of the ignition chamber also a good idea of of the size of the valves installed at the factory .they are cast into the side of the cylinder head,as the name may suggest
Valves per cylinder makes one's engine more powerful or less powerful. A engine that has 2 valves per cylinder is better that a engine that has only one.
