You would want to use a 1/2" drive ratchet and socket set, plus extensions. I'd suggest you get a 1/2" drive ASE and Metric set both. I believe the fasteners you're talking about require a 15mm, but there will be different size fasteners you'll need to remove, as you'll probably want to separate the transmission from the bell housing, transfer case from the transmission, and there'll be a crossmember which you'll need to remove, as well. I've done this on a 2000 Trailblazer, but those were just Blazers with a special trim package up to 2002 - beyond that, they're a different vehicle, and I don't know if the fastener sizes are all the same. If you don't want to drain the fluids, you would take the bell housing, transmission, and transfer case down as one single unit, meaning you'll just remove the bolts from the bell housing.
You can disconnect the 1996 Jeep transmission lines with a 9/16 open end wrench. Be prepared for transmission fluid to come out of the transmission lines.
That little wrench icon is notifying you that scheduled maintenance is due.
NO. You will have to remove all the transmission bolts and slide the transmission back enough to get a wrench and your hand between the engine and transmission to remove the fly-wheel bolts.
The engine/transmission needs servicing/repair.
The symbol of a wrench and an oil can on the dash of a Chevy Trailblazer means that your vehicle needs oil. If the light doesn't go away oil is added, you need to take your vehicle in for service.
open ended wrench and some muscle.

Not sure what your doing but you can use a strap wrench around the bottom pulley to hold the crank from turning.
it could mean 1 of 2 things. #1 the transmission, and #2 the engine
i've done this on my 88 929 it's pretty straight forward. 1. remove flywheel belhousing cover on the bottom of the transmission in the front. i think there are four bolts. 2. you must then remove flywheel bolts from torqu converter there are 4 bolts. use wrench on front balancer pully bolt to turn engine to acces all bolts. 3. support the transmission with jackstands on the front and rear of transmission. remove transmission fluid line there are two. and then disconnect electrical wire harness. 4. check clearance, i dont remember but you might have to remove dipstick and tube. 5. remove bellhousing bolts from transmission thereare about six the connect transmission to the engine. 6. remove transmission mount bracket. 7. disconnect shift cable from floor shifter to the trans. 8.jack up transmission with floor jack and remove mounts ,lower transmission out of car.
