Last time I looked at a map, the only country that Scotland SHARED a border with was England to the south. However, if you head east you'll hit Norway, and depending on where in Scotland you head WEST, you might hit Ireland. If you head north, the next country you'd hit would be Russia, on the far side of the North Pole, in Eastern Siberia.
