Little Richard and Elvis Presley. It amazes me how many people get this one wrong. Well I thought I would imrpove this answer somewhat. Actually McCartney although he did like those two musicians when he was much younger and they did inspire him to a degree, John Lennon was more into the rock n roll of that time. Such as Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Elvis, ect. Paul loved Buddy Holly too. That's where him and John clicked so much as kids growing up. Today Paul says he enjoys listening to, "Radiohead, Zutons, Coldplay, and Oasis." However, Paul was a bit taken back by Oasis front men Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher, when they said they would be bigger and better than The Beatles ever were. Paul said, "what a stupid thing to say." Guess not, since Oasis broke up. But I would admit, they sound more like the Beatles than any other group I've ever heard. Now it looks like Beady Eye are the new Beatles sounding.
