If it is the rear brakes, you will need one of these, a socket wrench and a large 'C' clamp. Get yourself a haynes manual or similar, that'll tell you what to do! http://www.autobarn.net/lis28600.html
Actually , you need a hex bit 8 mm. I edited , for you should have the C clamp as well. and a 8 mm hex bit
to help close the caliper before installing the new pads...

Any auto part store should have it.
Is there a special tool that is needed to remove and replace the brake shoes?
To change the brakes of a 2004 KIA spectra, the car needs to be mounted by jacks. Remove the wheel and loosen the clips holding the brake pads. Change them and re-insert the clips. It is important to also add some brake fluid when the pads are changed.
It does not have brake shoes, it has brake pads. And, yes you will need a special caliber compression tool. You can borrow this tool at almost any auto parts store that sells pads. Just ask.
i suggest you get the manual book at a auto parts store like autozone or kragen.
The back and front are different and the calipers are removed different ways. Other than that they should be like any other brake.
i suggest you buy the manual book at auto parts store like autozone or kragen.
Yes, no special tools needed. A brake shoe spring retractor tool will make it easier.
No special tool. half inch socket and a 13mm. if you have a C-clamp or something to push the calibar back that's all ya need.
It is reccomended that one purchases or borrows the special tool needed to perform this otherwise difficult replacement.
DOT3
Make and year is needed for info like that.
