It really depends on your view of animal abuse. No halfway decent college is going to abuse animals just for the fun of it. However, many colleges will do animal dissections, and that can be perceived as abuse depending on your worldview (though my most it is considered a learning experience, and animals are supposed to be euthanized humanely prior to dissection).
