The western half of the United States is most famous for its cowboys, particularly in the states of Texas, Montana, South Dakota, Arizona, New Mexico and Oklahoma. The same area (being the West) in Canada is also famous for having cowboys. Alberta is the one province that is the most famous for cowboys, however, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba have a large number of ranches as well. Ontario also has its fair share of cowboys.
