After finished typing it out in the desired font etc., double click on the layer the font is on. A window will pop up. In the window, on the left "drop shadow" is listed. Click on the WORDS "drop shadow" (clicking on the check mark will not immediately give you the ability to edit the shadow). When finished press OK.
