well first you have to remove the intake, i am not too familiar with this engine, if it is a dual overhead cam engine, you will have to remove the timing chain, or belt. then you should be able to remove the valve cover, then the cylinder head bolts, and then it should pop right off, oh yeah, drain the coolant first thing, if it is a in block style cam, you will have to remove the push rods( take off valve cover, loosen rocker arms, remove push rods) then you can remove the head bolts, and then the cylinder head. If you are not an experienced mechanic, i would have the local shop do it. it requires a lot of tools, and to get it done properly, a lot know how.

Changing a transmission is a fairly difficult job but really its not that bad, you can basically take one out with next to no tools... First break the axle nut, lift vehicle and remove both C/V Joints Then remove starter drain trans pan remove dust shield remove 4 torque converter bolts then remove the like 5-6(cant remember how many) bell housing bolts and that's it you will find that the majority of the tools needed is basically a 18mm socket... but it doesnt hurt to have a 18mm wrench as well... ive tooken transmissions out and all i used was a breaker bar and 18mm socket because my ratchet broke... and i don't have a transmission jack... so i used 2 twist style jacks and a peice of plywood... so its not hard, just takes time
