central nervous system (CNS)
a nerve fiber that lacks the fatty myelin insulating sheath. Such fibers form the gray matter of the nervous system, as distinguished from the white matter of myelinated fibers. Also called nonmedullated nerve fiber.
Myelinated fibers appear white in comparison to unmyelinated fibers.
White matter
Myelinated axons in the central and peripheral nervous systems.
The corpus callosum is composed of white matter, specifically myelinated nerve fibers. These fibers are axons that belong to different neurons and enable communication between the two cerebral hemispheres of the brain. They facilitate the transfer of information and coordination between the left and right sides of the brain.
The white matter consist of myelinated nerve fibers.

Yes White matter is the part of the nervous system that is dense is myelinated axons
White matter in the nervous system is caused when the axons in the area are myelinated. This means that the axons have a fatty protein covering to provide insulation. The myelin sheath is composed of special cells calls Schwann Cells.
it is the substance surrounding the gray matter. It is also composed of myelinated nerve fibers and makes up nerve pathways called tracts.

The white ramus communicans carries non-myelinated GVE fibers.
These are myelinated fibers just at the junction of the gray matter and the white matter which travel in a tangential, rather than radial, fashion connecting areas of cortex to other areas of cortex. What's special about these U-fibers, and why they are either spared or not in leukodystrophies, is that they comprise the slowest myelinating fibers within the nervous system. These U-fibers begin myelination early in gestation and often aren't completely myelinated until the third or fourth decade of life. Therefore, leukodystrophies in which the pathology is dependent on myelin turnover will demonstrate relative sparing of these fibers as the turnover is extremely slow; while in leukodystrophies which depend on toxic damage to the oligodendroglial cell, subcortical U-fibers are as vulnerable as other myelinated fibers within the nervous system.
The white rami communicantes are myelinated pre-ganglionic fibers (myelinated axons) from cell bodies located in the internal gray of the spinal cord. These fibers represent general visceral efferents of the sympathetic nervous system.
Preganglionic because they are myelinated. FALSE
