It's difficult to say, since we have no photographs of her. We do know that the Disney movie is not an accurate depiction of how she might have looked, and it tired to modernize her, giving her European features and a modern (and colorful) version of a tattoo on one arm. But in her Algonquin culture, if she had tattoos, they would have been tribal markings that identified her social status, and they would have been on the sides of her face or near her neck, according to what some scholars have written about the customs of native peoples of that time.
