You would need to cook it for at least 5 hours & 20 minutes !
7 hours @ 250 for a rare roast
That sounds a bit low. I roast mine at 350 deg. and it takes about 45 min. per pound to cook. What's important is the final temp. inside the roast. You need to get an oven thermometer that you can stick into the roast and check to see if it reads at least 170 deg. If not keep cooking. The lower temp. you cook at means it will take longer to reach 170 deg. inside.
you should roast a piece of beef at the temp of 160 deegrees This should read "TO the temp of 160 degrees, internal temp" (for medium doneness) If you roast it AT the temp of 160, it will probably spoil (or wind up full of bacteria) before it ever reaches doneness. Medium rare would be done at an internal temp of 145. Your oven temp should be at least 250 to 350 degrees depending on the size of the roast, the vessel that it is being roast in, covered or uncovered, & desired browness on the outside.
Why would you "cook" a pork roast in the microwave. Pork roast are a tough meat and it requires low temp at about 10 hours like in a crock pot.
i say cook@ 400 for ten minutes then turn down to 325 and cook until internal temp is 165 -170 degrees.
Roast at 325 to 350 degrees. Size of turkey will define how long to cook but the internal temp of the bird (@ breast) should be 185 degrees.
Not necessarily at room temperature, but it shouldn't be frozen. It should be pretty much thawed out.
Frozen meats cook faster. Rinse your chicken off, then put it in the roaster at 400 degrees for 20 mins., then lower the temp. to 350. It is usually 15 mins. per pound.
Place in a small baking pan, add water to cover the bottom of the pan. Slow cook it at 250-270 degrees for several hours covered. Once the meat has reached 135-155 internal temp or until desired coloring. I would recommend doing a simple dry rub on the roast before cooking. Even add some veggies like carrots, potatoes or onions. They will release juices as they cook as well as add a great flavor to the end product.
You wash the beef off.Put the roast in a small roasting pan. Then season roast with seasoning.Fill roaster half way with water. Set oven to 350. Let this slow cook for about an hour an a half. Check roast after this time but may need to add more water , so this does not cover the roast. Let this cook for about another hour and a half or until roast falls apart when fork is placed in it.
In an oven heated to 275 degrees you cook a roast for 28 minutes per pound. Therefore the estimated cooking time for a 4.8 pound roast is 134 minutes or 2.23 hours.
