The coolant temperature sensor on a 2001 Ram is next to the thermostat housing, behind the alternator.
I have a 2001 Dodge 3500 that was not getting up to operating temperature. I changed the thermostat and that fixed it. I guess the thermostat was stuck open.

If you are asking about the engine thermostat, they are not adjustable. You buy them by the temperature setting.
depends on the engine on the 3.3 there is a thick black hose that goes from the radiator to the engine
the spring end goes into the engine

The thermostat is under the housing where the upper radiator hose attaches to the engine.
Could be that the thermostat is stuck open, new thermostat fixed my 2001 Dodge 3500. If your temperature gauge is not reading warm enough, could be the thermostat.
It is under the housing that the upper radiator hose hooks to on the engine.
