- They have several branches of their religion .
- Both have guidelines they live by. (This is also true for Muslims and Buddhists and Hindus and... well, you get the point.)
- Additionally, both religions practice monotheism.
- Also, both religions have a holy book by which they live. (The Holy Bible for Christians, the Tanach for Jews.)
Did? They still do! Jews and Christians share:
a) the entire Jewish bible, which forms the Old Testament in Christian Bibles, with the order of books changed.
b) an agreement that the Golden Rule summarizes the ethical imperative of the commandments.
c) an agreement that "you shall love the Lord with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength" (Deuteronomy 6:5) is a central commandment. (Jews recite this as part of the Shema in their daily prayers, Christians call it the Great Commandment.)
d) The belief that the physical universe was created by God, who exists independently from that universe.
e) The belief that God defines certain actions as sinful, desires repentance, listens to prayer, and forgives sin.

The primary religious text for Christians is the Holy Bible.
The first Christians were Jewish.
