Immigration act of 1924
wow retodd stop editing things kids need answers for homework on.
yes, was against an active government and he wasn't a good president but, a lot of good things happened while he was president
Probably several things, but one that comes to mind: he was the first US president to appear in a "talkie" (a motion picture with sound).
Many things happened in 1923. Time Magazine first launched, one piece swim suits for women appeared, Mount Etna erupted, the first game was played at Yankee Stadium, insulin was introduced, and Calvin Coolidge was president.
It was Warren G. Harding, in 1921. Not a lot of people heard him (most people did not begin to get radios till 1922), but it was written up in the newspapers. By all accounts, Harding was a big fan of radio, which was a new mass medium when he was president. He was also the first president to install a radio in the White House, in early February 1922.
Many things have happened in history on December 6th. In 1912, China voted for universal human rights. In 1957, the AFL-CIO voted to expel the Teamsters. In 1982, Senator Ted and Joan Kennedy divorced.
Good Things Happening was created in 1974-09.
he stopped many bad things from happening even though he sided with the British at some times
Strange Things Happening Every Day was created in 1945.
People who appreciated Calvin Coolidge's ideas and policies often included proponents of limited government, fiscal conservatism, and individualism. His supporters admired his emphasis on economic growth, low taxes, and minimal government intervention in the economy. Additionally, many in the business community and those valuing traditional American values found inspiration in his presidency, which emphasized a return to normalcy and a focus on American prosperity.
Actually, it's a misquote, according to the Coolidge Memorial Foundation. He gave the speech in mid-January 1925 and his point was not that business is all that matters. He first said that "The chief business of the American people is business... Of course the accumulation of wealth cannot be justified as the chief end of existence." He went on to conclude that "... We make no concealment of the fact that we want wealth, but there are many other things that we want very much more. We want peace and honor, and that charity which is so strong an element of all civilization." So, he was saying that money and business are important, but they should not dominate our life because other things matter too. More about what he actually said is found by following the link below.
He gave an interview with Playboy magazine and admitted to “lust in his heart.” Seems pretty tame compared to the things that are happening now.
