South Australia is bordered by four states and one territory.
It is bordered by Western Australia to the west, New South Wales and Victoria to the east, Queenslandin the far northeastern corner, and the territory of the Northern Territory to the north.

To the north of he Murray River lies the state of New South Wales, while Victoris lies to the south. The Murray then flows through the state of South Australia.
